  1. Closing. We don't have a area to move closed suggestions at the moment so I will leave it here and look into possibly getting a sub forum added to The Archives.
  2. What c45y posted is what is left. Now that the minigames are completed I'll finish up the main spawn. As for prizes, I could actually use some suggestions here, what do you guys think are some good prizes? I've been getting on zburdsal about the lobby so hopefully it'll get done in time. Protections I shall start doing now that most builds are completed. 7. Idea.. Since that's going to be by a volcano, why not make the water lava?
  8. Alrighty folks, we are aiming for the weekend of June 5th! This means everything needs to be finished by May 30th. This will give us time for last minute touchup's. I have requested the Tech's add CutePvP and other plugins for the event so we can start testing. This is the master list of things that need to be done or are completed: [WIP]Minigames Spawn - SwitchViewz - Waiting for all minigames to be completed [WIP]King of The Hill - Barlimore [WIP]PvP Spleef - Mrloud15 [WIP]Event Lobby - zburdsal [WIP]Parkour - CROCKODUCK [WIP]Maze - CROCKODUCK [WIP]Team Spawns - SwitchViewz [WIP]Ruins - buzzie71 [WIP]Custom Spawners - SwitchViewz [NOT BEGUN]Flag Stands/Towers [NOT BEGUN]Buff Tower #3 [ON HOLD]Red Outer Walls - I have outline where these should go in RED wool [ON HOLD]Blue Outer Walls - I have outlined where these should go in BLUE wool [NOT BEGUN]Move Minigames Closer Together [NOT BEGUN]Prizes - SwitchViewz [NOT BEGUN]Rulebook - SwitchViewz [ON HOLD]Protections - SwitchViewz [DONE]Red Inner Walls [DONE]Blue Inner Walls [DONE]Obstacle Course Minigame [DONE]schererererer's Buff Tower [DONE]MasterCommaThe's Buff Tower [DONE]Custom Spawner Dungeon (Barlimore's Pyramid)
  9. I'll be making a Big O' Post here shortly containing what needs to be finished and to clean this mess up! As for teasers we intend to announce the date really soon here and with it I have made a teaser video.
  10. Thanks for the feedback guys! *takes notes* I completely agree with both of you here and it's a bit of a mess unfortunately due to my lack of time. Schooling/finals come before Minecraft does and the last 2 weeks I have spent focusing heavily on them. It was really just a bad time overall to have a fundraiser but we are sadly low on funds. However I am free from school now so I hope to clean up this mess and get things a rollin'! As we finish this fundraiser I intend to immediately start on the next one so we don't run into issues again. Our big Events have always involved taking down our other servers to host the Event. If we want to do a full week fundraiser would we want to take all the servers down for a week? If we don't we will most likely not see as many players on E. As for other Events, I do plan to have other events on E that don't involve taking the others down, and I also plan to have it be the main stage for when I roll out "Player Events". We have always been an Anti-Pay-To-Win Community and most in game bonuses would encourage Pay-To-Win or Pay-To-Be-Above-Everyone-Else sort of deal. We could perhaps put a "donator:" in with /list but other then that I'm not sure what else we could add? Were more then open to suggestions so please feel free to share any if you have some. We could have a bot set up or we could add it manually but those are details we can work out later down the line.
  11. Hey guys, with our recent concerns for funding and wanting to expand to other games we have decided that we are going to host multiple fundraisers per year. I have some questions for everyone that will help me work out the details of multiple fundraisers and would greatly appreciate you guys answering them. 1.) How many fundraisers would you like to see per year? How offen do you think they should be? 2.) What do you think we should do for fundraisers? Should we have one that is always CTF and others be something different, or have all of them be CTF, or something else? 3.) How long do you think fundraisers should last? (In days) 4.) Should we give some sort of recognition to donators via a forum award or subreddit flair? (No in game bonuses) 5.) Any other comments or feedback you have about donation drives/fundraisers?
  12. We've been working on it with all hands on deck but it still takes time especially since its right round finals time and school for most people. I'm very much aware of how badly we need one but it takes time to get one rolling.I believe we have enough funds to last us until the end of June.
  13. Hey folks, I'm happy to finally put up the voting thread for the second lobby design contest! The way voting works is you vote for your top 3 favorite lobbies, and the people with the most votes will win that place. Prizes are: 1st Place: Lobby up for 6 months, fancy subreddit flair 2nd Place: Lobby up for 4 months 3rd Place: Lobby up for 2 months All other lobbies that do not place 1st/2nd/3rd will be up at some point for 1 month so that everyone gets there lobby used! Note: A lobby may be temporarily replaced with a holiday lobby, or a special lobby for an event, but the lobby will return after and continue it's full time. May 27th!
  14. I've mentioned this in the past but perhaps we could also give people a badge here on the forums as well? I'd actually like to start up some sort of "Award System" here on the forums and perhaps a donation badge could be apart of it?
  15. I will try to get it up later tonight or tomorrow. Sorry for the delay, been super busy with finals and school.

  18. If anyone flattens any terrain I will personally beat you! Flat terrain is boring lets build the bases into the landcape!
  19. With that layout above in mind, I'd like to toss in these new descriptions for each board: Events: Upcoming activities in the community Minecraft: Discussion for our minecraft servers Ban Appeals: Currently open appeals for the servers Problems & Issues: Technical problems with the servers or other services Suggestions: Suggestions and ideas for the community, events, and individual servers The Archives: Archived posts from the staff forum sections, past events, and closed ban appeals Other Games: Discussion for other games and servers outside of nerd.nu Mod Chat: Public staff discussions
  20. Agree with scherer here as well as Mrloud. Though I have one question, where would the Event subforum be located? Would it be under 'Events' or 'Server Discussion'? I'm actually going to go a bit off-topic here and suggest that we actually rearrange and rename the entire forum board. We are a 'Community' now and no longer one game or one server focused. This is what I propose: News & Announcements - Community News - Events Servers - Minecraft - Counter Strike: Global Offensive - Whatever other game we do Support - Click here to appeal your ban! - Ban Appeals - Problems & Issues - Suggestions -- Creative -- PvE -- Survival -- Events The Lounge - The Archives -- Past Events -- Closed Ban Appeals - Other Games - Off-Topic -- /r/ama Staff Discussions - Mod Chat - Private Mod Chat -- Notes -- Moderator Nominations - Admin Chat -- HR -- Closed Admin Chat
  21. Sorry if this is rude but all I know about this is that he 'disappeared' on the subreddit post. Did he pass away, or go missing in real life? Or has he just not logged on for awhile? I feel like I'm missing something here.
  22. I agree and I wouldn't want admins to try and take over a player ran event. When I talk about being admin endorsed, or admin supported, I or another admin would be there to run things such as /broadcast or /mode, or other things that regular players don't have. The event overall would be ran by the player, but things that are restricted to staff only would by how the admins would help. Would events ran by players (regardless of whether or not it's on one of the servers nerd.nu hosts or if it's on a steam based game server) be endorsed by the admins? That is the point of this topic - If we are to introduce something to official "support" player events and be endorsed by the admins how should we go about it? What would it take to be endorsed? I don't know right now as I haven't worked out any details, but that's the point of this thread. What do you guys think it should take to be endorsed? I don't want to make it super hard to be endorsed but it also can't be super easy and abused either. I want to know what you guys think is a good balance. Would there be a specific process with rules requiring you (the host) to do specific things in order to be endorsed? Of course, but before I work out any details or rules for endorsement, I want to gather the communities opinions on what they think some rules should be or what the process should be. What is an admin endorsement in your mind? Before I became a staff member I liked to host cool events and things on PvE. I would even often go with the Rev theme or with whatever admin event was going on at the time. When I did these events, I thought it would be cool to have it officially announced with /broadcast and have help from admins to make it more awesome. I wanted to do server wide events that was supported by staff. Unfortunately though when I approached staff about it I was told that we didn't do that, which was a huge let down to me. Once I became staff and later an EAdmin, players have started coming to me with TONS of ideas for events. It is insane how many suggestions I have gotten. I write them down and hope that I can get around to them some day. This is the problem though - The shear number of ideas and events people want to see happen I simply can not do. I just don't have the time. I go to school and have a life like everyone else and I can't spend 12 hours a day on making events. Don't get me wrong though, I love doing the events and making things for everyone to enjoy, I just can't do as many as I would like. With that in mind that's how I came up with the idea for admin endorsed events. I want players to be able to build and host there own events for everyone else to join in on with support of staff. To me, admin endorsement is having your event officially announced, having support from admins for permissions and commands players do not have access to, such as using creative mode for prizes, or using /o for announcing or WE, teleporting players, using easy-signs, using warps, ETC. The player runs the event, but the behind the scenes and support is from admins/staff. I'm liking the fact the events server is becoming more open- we'll be looking forward for these kinds of things to begin to take place. E is used very little in my view, and we are not taking full advantage of what it could be used for. I want to open it up and put it to it's full potential. But I also don't want to detract from the other servers player counts. I want to limit actual events on E to every month or two, but have it open for building events, and have other events take place on there respective servers (C, P, S).
  23. I'm not sure yet as I haven't quite worked out the details - that's why I'm asking everyone, what do people think they should be able to do? I'm not sure what you mean by this or how it's relevant?
  24. Hey there everyone, I mentioned before that I wanted to try and make "Player Ran Events" possible. These Events would be official events endorsed by admins and announced just like other events, but would be ran by players with admin assistance. My question to all of you is, what do you see Player Ran Events being? Are you wanting events ran by players on each server or a big player event on E? Are you wanting events where prizes are handed out by admins? Are you wanting events where Admins run it but it was built by players? Etc. What is it you guys think Player Ran Events should be and include?
  25. Event has concluded! A voting thread will be up within the next week and the thread will be open for voting for 1 week.
