  2. There is no real way to enforce this since spawn doesn't have to be in the center anymore. An E Portal is necessary for future events, especially if we use these lobbies during the holidays.

Lobby Design Contest #2 Starts: April 11th 2015 Ends: May 9th 2015 Where: Creative Server - World: Contest-Lobby (/mvtp Contest-Lobby) Rules: All standard nerd.nu rules apply You must build your design on C, we will not be importing builds. If you have a small part you would like imported then we can do that, but we are not importing entire designs Spawn can be anywhere, however, all portals have to be relatively evenly spaced from spawn. No “prioritizing” or “favoriting” one portal by having it closer to spawn then the others (exception being E) Portals must be at least 15 blocks away from the spawn point Unused plots can and will be reclaimed 1 plot per person, may be part of others builds Portal frames can be built out of anything Open portal blocks (the spinning purple blocks or water you travel into to teleport to the selected server) can be any block you want Closed portal blocks (the purple wool/ice that appears when a portal closes) can be any block Design needs to hold at least 200 people Design can be a max size of 200x200 (no height limit) Must have C, P, S, E Portals How it works: We will be using the same system as last time: PlotMe. WorldEdit commands will also be the same. You will be able to claim 1 plot per person in which to build your design. Each plot is 200x200 however you do not need to fill the entire space. Groups builds are highly encouraged. SafeBuckets is enabled, though you are able to place flowing water/lava. You will need to /modreq for flowing water/lava still, sorry =/ WorldEdit is enabled for use in your plot(s) only, however most commands are rate limited to help server stability. Any abuse will result in a ban. The map is currently limited to 36 plots as group builds are preferred, but we can expand if it's needed. The winner will be chosen by a vote on the forum.   6. I completely agree, and I try to schedule events when the most people are available. I'm working on something to hopefully help with times here in the near future and I will try to schedule events where more people can be involved. The details for this are currently being worked on, so to answer your question I have no idea yet. I don't even know if it will become a reality but I intend to push for it but first I have to finish exactly what its going to be and all the details.

  8. Hey there everyone, this topic is to be used to request channels being added into mumble. These channels will be permanent, and every month or two a staff member will go through and remove channels that haven't been used a lot. You can request a channel be added to any other channel and include a reason why you would like this channel. Note, we may deny the channel for a variety of reasons but we hope to accommodate everyone!   9. Whoops I removed one earlier, thought we could remove them if they old enough and the staff member was not active. Sorry about that. Why don't we take this opportunity to write up an actual policy for removing notes? I'm not entirely sure what we should include in the policy, here's a few thoughts of mine: You can appeal a note after X amount of time? Only the giving staff member can remove it. If staff member is inactive a admin/head admin can remove it? Notes about unbans will not be removed as they are for record keeping?

  12. Hey everyone, I wanted to post and have a quick chat about things I hope to accomplish while I am an EAdmin and gather any feedback you guys can offer. Firstly, one of the major things I want to help improve is the level of player-staff transparency as well as the mod-admin transparency level. There are a lot of things we talk about and do everyday that regular players do not know about and don't need to necessarily be kept private. I'm not promising full disclosure or anything like that, but I feel there can be a good amount of improvement with how we communicate with the player base. I hope to be at the for-front and help make this happen. I have already gone ahead and given some brief information on some of the Events that I am planning here. Sometime over the next week or two I am going to be aiming to get a bunch of topics flushed out from PMC and AC into the Archives to give people a better idea of what goes on behind the scenes. If you have any questions or concerns about these please feel free to send me a PM or catch me in mumble. Secondly, I'd like to start up Player-Run-Events. While I have only been a EAdmin for a few days I can already see the work piling up. That's not a bad thing and I love to do it, but I am only one person. One person with ideas and the ability to run events. I want players to be able to hold their own events, and give out their own prizes. Somewhat like Spleef Club, but have it be official and announced on the servers with possible admin assistance. The details for this I am still working on and I can't promise that this will become a reality, but it is one of the things I would like to push for. **Thirdly, I'd like to help get things done in a timing fashion. We are sometimes criticized for taking to long to do things or come to a conclusion on something. I hope to try and push things along and to get them rolling. I don't want to spend to much time on something that shouldn't take that long. I hope that other staff members will also follow in this attitude so that we can help make this place even better! Lastly, I want to host events in more then just Minecraft. I already do Friday Night Gaming but those are not official events and are just casual gaming sessions. I'd like to start hosting official tournaments with possible prizes and other various events. We are no longer RedditMC, we are Nerd.Nu Gaming Community. It's about time we start hosting events and planning things outside of Minecraft! I hope this gives some insight on what I hope to accomplish and improve in my role as an Admin. If you guys have any questions, concerns, or feedback, please don't hesitate to contact me.   17. I am bringing lots of vanilla ice cream with hot fudge and oreos. I then intend to use this ice cream to bribe the head admins into letting me do a hostile take over of the servers! >:D On a serious note I hope to bring more of a "get shit done" attitude. We are often accused of taking to long to do things and I think that that is a valid concern. We aren't perfect but things could use some streamlining and organization to help us get things done faster. I hope to bring my drive and attitude into us getting more things done in a faster timeframe. The answer to this question depends on what my current view is. I may need to switch my viewz a few more times before I can figure out how many views a SwitchViewz can switch views. I hope to make a post here in the next hour or so about my goals and what I would like to achieve. I'll give a brief answer to your questions as my topic will be a bit more in-depth: 1 - I intend to run a variety of events ranging from server specific events, to coordinating donation drives, as well as outside minecraft events (kind of like "official FNG nights") 2 - I will be coordinating events for all servers 3 - The donation drive is done by the entire admin team but I hope to take a more coordinating role and open up designing it to the rest of the mod team and possible the community as well. The reason question is: Why shouldn't you ask me questions?

  19. I figured it was about time I did one of these so ask away! A bit about me for anyone curious: I am currently attending college for a computer programming degree. I have been learning C++ and I have worked with HTML/PHP in the past designing websites. I used to run a few fan sites back in the day when they were popular but now I just hang around nerd.nu. I have a passionate love for Minecraft and TF2 and have an even more passionate love for vanilla ice cream with hot fudge and Oreos. My cat also attacks the mailman.

  21. Hey there everyone, now that I am back from my vacation its time to kick off some more game nights! We will be starting off this month with a special event: TF2 Shenanigan Night! About TF2 Shenanigan Night is a night where we try to be as silly and as goofy as possible while playing TF2. Here are some of the things I was planning on doing: Going into public servers or community servers, having everyone get on the same team and have everyone go 1 class. Such as on a Payload map we all join red and go engineer, or if were on blue we all go spy and cloak when coming out of spawn so it looks like no one is attacking. Endless medic chain All mini-sentries All heavy/medic combo Having everyone conga in spawn or Rancho Relaxo Those are just some ideas I have, if you have some please share! I would love to try out some of your guys ideas! When Friday April 10th, Saturday April 11th at 7PM PST/10PMEST The event will last at least 2 hours but may go on for longer I will be recording via Open Broadcasting Software. Everyone in mumble will also be recorded.
