Edit: I think I'll look at the canals before I suggest anything more so I know exactly how they work. What I had before edit: Im just trying to account for the users out there that want to zig zag or go back and forth and what not. Simply adding a half slab in the middle really isn't that much more work. I will message you when I'm on next to see them.

There will still be rails, as far as I know we are still doing CARBON in Rev 13 and most likely CARTS as well. This is just an addition option to the already available options. Perhaps split it in half and have each side going a certain direction?

So you want to take most of the E out of PvE? Part of the PvE experience is hostile mobs and without them what fun would it be? It'd just be a creative in survival mode which you can already do on C by putting yourself into survival with /mode. Don't get me wrong, I started as a C player a long time ago but part of the reason I joined PvE was for the Environmental challenge of hostile mobs. Removing that would be removing a enormous part of PvE.

Link to the reddit post Hello! As we all know, the rev is ending on the 28th of February. So the town of Whiteoak has built a massive underground room for fighting! Also known as Nightoak! We should be having this event on the 27th of Febrary at 7PM PST (10PM EST), sometime in the afternoon/night PST. [between 4pm-12am PST] So far we have 50+ Doppels and 10 Withers. If you would like to donate diamonds or wither skulls, please contact either SwitchViewz or Rokku117. If you want to bring your own doppel and/or wither, please do so under your own power. Also be ready to place them the same time that everyone else is. I agree with kitcatbar on this. Simply build the canals in a way that allows the user to break a boat as little as possible. This may be difficult but that's the fun part of building. To go with her rail example you can always make rails mob proof such as the nether rails this rev built by jsojl that are anti mob (except for babys and small magma slimes).

Totally what I didn't expect, well played. @Aghe: The two lines in your cieling made it look like you had giant spikes coming off your headphones and reminded me of old TV set antennas, I had a big wtf moment. @Twil: You guys are adorable! Your husbands smile reminds me of a evil grin.

So I went looked at the logs at nerd.nu/logs for this situation and have found nothing. From the screenshots that he gave it appears that he is on the account timoman6 which turns up 0 results for searching the logs on all 3 servers for the last 60 days. Then upon searching the account Dunk514 I get no results until 60 days ago and only on Creative. This implies one of two things. Either the logs are not returning information correctly as the screenshots states otherwise or he has in fact not caused any trouble recently. Therefor I am unsure exactly where you are getting this "20ish minutes beforehand Dunk was just being a troll" as there is no evidence that points to this. The only results where he is trolling/causing trouble is only 60 days ago and is not relevant to this instance.

Ore rates and spawning is different for each seed and the amount in each chunk is always different. Especially since on PvE we have custom ore spawning there is no real way to determine the actual amount of ore. Each map and each server is different, there is no one way to figure out a standard system.

Everyone beware... I caught tompreuss harvesting the spawn potato farm several times a few days ago and it keeps getting harvested. I have a feeling he may be up to something...

The 4 corners were a new thing this rev and if I recall correctly at the start of this rev they briefly mentioned that they would be visiting the topic of custom portal sizes for later revisions. I guess we will find out what they have planned for Rev 13 soon.

If you think that someone is griefing your best bet is to do "/modlist" and then "/m modname" and let them know of the possible grief. If no mods are online you can try a different server or submit a "/modreq" saying that they might of possibly been griefing.

Similar to what TornadoHorse said: If you ever have any problems with another player in the game you can your best bet is to do the command "/modlist" and the "/m modname" and they can sort out the situation. If it is over PM's you can asked that your problem be relayed to one of the appropriate server admins that can check the logs and then go from there. If no mods are online you can go to another server and try the same thing or submit a "/modreq" with your problem. If you ever find yourself getting frustrated with another player just report it and walk away. It is not worth the time or effort to get into a brawl with another player. Best of luck to you during your time off! Edit: You can also always email admin@nerd.nu (I believe, please correct me if this email is wrong) if you have a issue and they will gladly help you. Bringing up past incidents provides nothing useful to what happened to him in this instantance. Especially since in the screenshots provided he has done nothing wrong, has not instigated them, or anything that violates any rules. Unless he didn't include something he is not at fault here.

We had something similar happen late at night on PvE a day or two ago, about 5-6 people got disconnected for no apparent reason while everyone else was fine. Edit: Not sure if this is related but during one of the restarts on PvE tonight several people including myself got this message when the server restarted instead of being moved back to the lobby: "[Proxy]Lost connection to server."

Well looks like I'm going to have to close the potato area on the spawn farms so I can keep harvesting them myself for those poisonous potatoes. It is your fault if everyone starves from not eating potatoes!

Exactly what would be the point of this? If this is a serious suggestion I would really prefer we didn't add anymore color or odd formatting to chat.

I did read that topic. I merely asked which one you were talking about since several have been mentioned. That topic was also about S and not P. Not that it isn't a viable solution I'm just saying that no padmin commented on that. -

Other players can view the modreqs made on PvE and Creative. And Schererererer said exactly what I was thinking beautifully. -
I'd love to have a weekly contest, or at least have them more often! And seeing so many people on Creative at a time is wonderful!

This sounds like a good idea I only see one problem with it. What happens when there is more then 8 towns in one quadrant of the map? Such as right now you have Whiteoak, Vinhaven, Pico, Rose City, Driftwood, Manta, Baktun, Port80, and Metal Mountains all in the SE section of the map.

This is a great idea on paper but would be difficult to implement. Firstly, you define trusted users based off a set number of hours? Just because someone plays a long time doesn't mean they can be trusted. A prime example of this is when people that were trusted enough with moderator powers abused them. Secondly, how would you actually make a user "trusted" in game? You would have to add a separate permission group just for trusted members and then add every trusted person one by one as they gain status. This would be a hassle for tech admins/server admins. I am not sure how safebuckets works entirely but from what I know is that SafeBuckets blocks any sort of flow from all buckets. You have to have a actual water source block in your hand to flow it (I'm not a mod so I'm not sure if this is how it works, so please correct me if I am wrong). How would these "Trusted Users" get the actual flow block to place flowing water? In short my opinion on this is you want to add a bunch of "trusted" users to place water when that basically what moderators are. They are trusted users that have been given the power to flow water and help out with other tasks. -
We do have a amazing admin team but we can't just assume that people won't call them out for it. There are always those people that will try and stir up drama. You or I might not do it but someone out there probably will. You can't just shove something off because you assume most people won't do it, there will always be that small group that does. I like this idea, the only problem I see with it is that how do you define who has the most members? (This is just a example not the actual numbers) You have Seneca that has 100 people but only 10 of which are active compared to Whiteoak who only has 50 people but 30 of those 50 are active. So your going to give the town with more members but less activity the portal? Sure we could figure out who the most active towns are but that sounds like a lot of work trying to figure that out and I wouldn't want to make the admin team have to do that. Then there is always the problem that let's say Seneca has 100 active members in the middle of the rev and gets a portal but then over several weeks then drop down to 10 members, while Argoth has had a steady active 50 players and no portal. Do you now give Argoth a portal to? What I'm trying to ask is what criteria do we have for giving towns a portal? I hope it doesn't appear that I'm trying to shoot down ideas, I just want to give accurate accounts to both sides of the ideas. I definitely prefer some alternative to the current system.

I brought this up in my opening post but the idea was turned down to the reasons that Random stated. It would be nice to see if we could have this reconsidered for next rev and have something worked out. Another idea, maybe instead of having it in spawn, have signs or something (item frames?) in spawn pointing to the outside of spawn rail station?

These all look awesome! I would like to request one! My skin is a zombie in a suit, perhaps have me attacking someone in some sort of fancy way since I'm a wearing a suit. You could also give me a top hat if it looks good.
