  1. We can always have a double launch with C and S, I'm sure it's been done before (just a suggestion)
  2. I said I liked to keep the upvotes and downvotes because they were used well in the past. They can be used to agree/disagree, but also show what posts are worthwhile and which ones are not. I remember when they were removed for a little bit, but they were brought back for whatever reason.. I'd like it to stay that way. Also, I have an issue with how the buttons work. Once you upvote/downvote, you can't cancel or redo a vote. If it is possible, can there be an undo button, or just let us have the option to change the vote after voting up or down?
  3. Except you downvote Ridiculous's last comment stating something very important about how the forums are being moderated. I feel his comment was worthwhile and constructive, and gave a different perspective. These forums are made for the community to feel comfortable having open discussion with whatever comes on there minds about the server (or other things) and having it closed because it was discussed and finalized in private makes me feel that there is no point in having the forums public!
  4. Why do you murder so many skin cells before our birth?
  5. I think this is the use of prison pearl on player-run servers. Obviously we have strict rules and staff to punish those who don't follow them, so prison pearl isn't right for S. I find the player that was stuck to be an example of this.
  6. Is it too late to make a suggestion? If not: An idea that I just had was making the bases shaped like pentagons/hexagons instead of the usual squares the mix things up a bit. This can easily be done with WE, but it won't work for walls that are already designed for squares.
  7. Ok, this is probably a big let down for all of you reading. I saw my grades dropping (fast) when I was trying to get the event to be created on time, so I've been neglecting the project for quite a while. It's finally to the point where I realized that June 10 is only weeks away, and the map is about 60% done. It is possible I can make it in time (I'm free June 7-12). Either we can delay the time to make sure this event is great, and still tell people that it's been 5 years, or make an entire new event. Sorry for not being able to invest more time into this event, and hopefully I'm wrong about this.
  8. I think we've had out fair share of pre-meeting excitement, yeah? Back on topic, I think this is a very good step forward. I also agree with barneygale saying how we can have an admin tell us what plan of action will take place. However, this is possibly not best to do during the meeting, but perhaps a few hours/a day after the meeting for the admin to get together and make a solid plan of action. Keep in mind however, we as players have the power to get things done as well. If you can type up a plugin that S could use, great! If you found a plugin that resembles the final decision on what to do and want to share it, better! Let's not put the full responsibility on S admins when we can do something other than complain.
  9. We could also have some kind of major fireworks show where the attendees of the event all get teleported into the viewing area
  10. Well that is pretty good news. I thought I could get the space event done by Mid June/Maybe July, and this fits perfectly, but shortens the time I need to set up. A twitch broadcast could be done as well, along with a fundraiser.
  11. +1 Agreed. I've always wanted to try factions, but that is so common these days.. perhaps our own nerd.nu twist? ;D (I'm not sure how command blocks work, so I'm more leaning towards plugins).
  12. Hey guys, buch here. I've been building the map for what may become the event, and I need some help before I continue. Take the poll above, and I can see how many spawns I need to make. Thanks!
  13. Compared to yesterday, how green is your shirt?
  14. First off, it's early morning and I may not be thinking clearly. I hope you can understand what's written below. I think the biggest problem right now, and has been since a year ago, is how no one wants any [large] change. Once a change does get implemented, it gets shot down and removed. The main argument against the lock picking plugin is how we fear that old players and people who are loyal to S will leave, and how we're so used to lwc. However, I believe certain changes should be added whether the regulars like it or not. It's clear that the way regulars are now able to say what's right and wrong is a problem, and always has been. Minimal changes go a long way As most of the regulars know, there is a mob-limiter plugin that limits the number of mobs in a chunk to reduce lag. This change, as far as I know, hasn't gotten much hate (or any hate at all) due to the overall impact this plugin had on the server. In the past, large changes like removing certain enchantments and adding a SimpleClan plugin got a lot of hate. Lock picking would also have a great impact, because that enables people to be able to loot chests. This is a whole new style of gameplay, and this will get regulars to be angry and leave. Going away from the style of "Survival" always has been looked down upon. So why not tweak some aspects of survival, but not change it entirely that it completely changes the way survival players play? In addition to becoming a unique server, these small changes can keep survival from being too repetitive each rev (it used to be fun to go in iron armor and fight, that is no longer the case. It used to be fun to go in diamond and fight, and it's becoming boring. Ender dragons were always sought after when the new update came out, but it's become boring to most; everything eventually gets so repetitive it's not fun anymore). Golden Days Mindset Another problem I want to address is the mindset that most people have in some way or another. Regulars especially want the good ol' "Golden Days" like Rev 5-8 or 14-16. We're so focused on trying to get S back to it's old state that we don't see that it's wrong. S needs to be moving forwards, not backwards. This server is clearly not moving forward, especially because there have been small changes added so infrequently that each rev becomes repetitive, like mentioned above. I believe that we need to stop disagreeing with every change, even if it sounds off, because it may work out in the end. My brain can't think of anything else to say, so like EeHee, </rant>
  15. I don't think it's too necessary to have a title for Head Mod and Normal Mods. Also, it can be hard to find anyone willing, but hopefully this will all work out! Seems like a great idea, and this is one thing nerd can benefit from.
  16. Also Rev 12 Spawn: http://redditpublic.com/carto/survival/s12/carto/#/22/64/-21/max/0/0
  17. This is Usurp Base 17, Gizzle http://redditpublic.com/carto/survival/s17/carto/#/598/64/-783/-1/0/0
  18. Should I open this up to the public? Ask for more ideas maybe?
  19. I'd like to ask a question- Are nether portals in/under spawn a problem? I've made this suggestion, and so have others so I wonder if there is an issue about it. For what I can tell, players don't really get an advantage, and it's faster to leave spawn if you want to. That can be an alternative to having spawn in the nether?
  20. The issue with having 5 or lower seconds is how quickly the fights seem. Whenever I fight, the match feels like 1 minute but it ends up being 3. My point is, time flies way to fast to see the difference of pearling every 3 seconds. Just imagining in my head, I can say that 3 seconds is the time it takes for a pearl to land if you pearl far away. There really is no point in setting it to 3 seconds, as the issue that caused this discussion is how people run away too easily. 5 seconds may be the best option, but to really prevent players from pearling to run away, I chose 5+ seconds.
