From PvE's Halloween event a couple of years ago. From a player vs mob round during a Survival arena. From a CTF event a year or so ago.

It's been about a week since this post was made, has any progress been made?

I'm going to donate a $20 steam gift card to winner of a speed building event. However, instead of just giving it the the winner of next week's event, I'm thinking of taking the top 2 or 3 players for 2 events (next week and the week after) and putting their names into a drawing where the winner would get the gift card.

Hello everyone, A few of us were talking on creative tonight about ways to increase the number of people participating on creative's speed build event, and we would like to hear if you guys have any other ideas. In no order, here are the ideas we came up with: A final speed build at the end of the rev for the winners on the speed builds throughout the rev, and the winner of that get's a prize (subreddit flair, special plot next rev, statue of them in next rev's spawn, etc) Museum of all the winners. Items for pve. Start posting on the subreddit and adding the events to the forum calendar.

You should make a modreq if something like a grinder is blocked, you should not destroy part of it to get in.

Hello everyone, We currently believe one of the main sources of the lag affecting the servers is a result of a failing SSD on our main box. The techadmins are in the process of moving the necessary data from the failing SSD to our secondary box before contacting the host to replace the SSD. We don't know how long this will take since it depends on the availability of our techadmins and our host. This may result in some downtime for some of our serveries including pve, creative, CS:GO, website, etc., so make sure to keep an eye on the subreddit and forums for any further announcements. Other things are also being done and looked into and we will make further announcements once there is something to update you guys on.

Question for the techadmins, would you guys be ok with me making the post below to update everyone on what's going on?

I did not continue with the discussion I was trying to have with you because you trying ending the conversion... To expand on that, we don't have the access to log if someone died because of lag and not another reason. It would be very easy for someone to say the died because of lag if they don't want to lose their items and we would not be able to tell the difference. I would much rather have the techadmins working on ways to fix the lag instead of writing a plugin to do this. However, you are more than welcome to write the plugin yourself and then we can see how it does and then the padmins can decide if they would like to use.

I think there is just a little confusion about the dates. p.nerd.nu has only been a server since early 2011. You are probably thinking of the time around when mcpublic became a thing, mid 2009, and the pve areas on survival which started late 2010 as pve revs.

What about something like making a no build buffer around each portal of 25-50 blocks and setting up a rule that says no person or group may claim more than 2 sides of any given portal. This would stop a single city from claiming a portal and encourage people to share it. Another idea would be to eliminate the fast travel aspect of portals by making the overworld and nether have a 1:1 ratio instead of the 1:8 it is by default. This would encourage more overworld rails and roads and would remove most, if not all, of the issues people have with portals and the drama it brings. For portal placement, I think something simple like 1 in each corner of the map plus 1 at spawn for the start of the rev (5 portals total) and then add 4 more along each axis later if the rev (bringing the total to 9 portals) preferably with a map expansion which would give people who join in the middle of the rev fresh unexploded land to build on.

I would set those rules as the channel comment and add something like "Failure to follow the rules listed above may result in a ban from mumble for the duration of the chat without warning." Also, the group you are talking about have been warned many times in the past for the demonstrating the same type of behavior so it's not really going against how we ban people only after giving them a lot of warnings before.

Everything is still in the developmental phases and we will make an official post when we have something to post.
