  1. If they wish to, they can tell people who they are otherwise they can be treated like a player that nobody knows. That would include a lot of the I don't know this player votes.
  2. People are allowed to play on whatever account they choose, he will have his reasons behind swapping and we should respect that.
  3. There are quite a few mods that don't go onto the other servers though, I think EeHee is getting at the fact that the mods on that server would know that player best and be able to determine if they were mod material better than the mods on another server.
  4. I think that was a reference to Sir_Didymus I may be wrong but I don't think he was referencing you there.
  5. We could have the staff team make a post every week or two weeks going over their discussions on the topics brought up, this would show the community that their ideas are being listened to and would also show the ideas that might link together. I don't really see much of a downside to this, it wouldn't take much effort.
  6. All ideas should be looked into, if someone takes time to come up with an idea to further the servers it should be considered.
  7. Eehee another possibility would be to have server specific voting threads, I am not really a fan of this idea as I believe mods should spend time on all three servers however it would rule out staff not voting a player in as they are on a different server.
  8. Maybe so however it's still clear that there are players that aren't, so it's in our best interest to find a compromise.
  9. Eehee I believe that staff should take the time during a thread to get to know all names brought up, if you see them online on the other server you should pop on and keep an eye on them and see how they act, you could even try talking to them. The only risk this runs is that players might twig that they are being discussed because staff are suddenly paying attention to them so if this approach is taken be careful about it. But I believe the only way you could have a true say on a player is if you have spent some time with them. In an ideal situation there should be no need for a don't know them well enough option.
  10. That is true, I think we should try and look into ways to ease the load on the cadmins this could give them more time for revisions and setting out revisions. If the cadmins start each map saying Ok this map shall go down on this date x months away this will give us this time to enhance the current rev as much as possible and this much time to set up the next revision. Having a set date would prevent players from going oh I don't know how much time there is left in this rev so I better not start my project until next rev incase the map changes halfway through only to then wait a couple of months before the next rev comes up. An approach we could possibly take is very dodgy and would have to be discussed greatly would be to allow moderators to use world edit on creative and set warps ect. Dodgy as that opens up abuse greatly. However if we limit it and monitor it closely it would take off the stress of completing a lot of modreqs for the cadmins allowing them more time to approach other matters such as the next rev, new potential plugins and new spawns. I am not 100% on this as it's very risky but it's an idea to ease the load on cadmins which could make it easier to create more structured creative revisions.
  11. At the risk of sounding like I'm criticising the current survival revision could we not go back to how it was but open up another server that implements all of the features that in place just now? (I am not having a go at the current revision I just like the old style and thought of a compromise.)
  12. If you take a look at the wiki page for our past creative revisions we have dramatically increased the lengths of our revisions.http://redditpublic.com/wiki/Creative revisions from around revision 11 up to revision 22 where around 1 to 2 months in length, Then we went up to 3 months and then had a huge jump and went up to 6 months for each revision. I'd really like to see much smaller maps with a lot shorter revisions 3 months sounds ok for a revision but the old 1-2 month revisions were great fun, it's fun to have variation and logging into the same place for half a year gets old quickly. There are a few advantages to having shorter revisions with smaller maps, variation on the server, if there are updates with new biomes ect we can get a map up using them a lot quicker, smaller maps encourage players to build together instead of flying off to some random location and never interacting with anyone else on the server again. People get more chances on the fresh start side of creative which is always quite fun. I don't know about anyone else but I am not a huge fan of joining a server that has already got it's community set, It's a lot more fun starting a project at the same time as everyone else, you can review progress on each other's builds and see how people's projects are doing in comparison to your own. Again a lot of other players might enjoy these long revisions but I start to get bored of the same map after a while, I'd really like to hear some thoughts on this and hopefully have the server lengths go down a bit at least.
  13. In terms of past quarrels I think there should be a set time since a player has done something wrong if they are contributing to the community, at which point their slate is cleaned. I mean holding something against a player they did a year or more ago is counter productive with out number at this time.
  14. I like the idea but I'd say no just because what is to stop a group of players deliberately fucking with the nominations? or to stop players making multiple forums accounts and voting no on one person? Barney mentioned the nerd.nu/applyformod page, when I first brought this up I originally wanted players to be able to go up to mods and put their name forward, the mod would then say thanks I'll put you in the thread, we eventually settled for the nerd.nu/applyformod compromise however I still ran on the idea of players that asked me I'd add them to the threads, I'd like that to become a thing again as I don't really see the downside to it at all I was never spammed with names and if playres asked more than once we'd simply say we already have you in the threads.
  15. Who is your favourite past cadmin? hint hint hint bzzzzzzzzzz
  16. you weren't against italy, uruguay and costa rica. You were against ghana and portugal fair do's to being against germany but you lost against them.
  17. If you were offered the chance to join faze or optic which one would you join to become the most mlg swagelord in town?
  18. That sounds like a great plan actually, I'd be up for helping out with getting this to work.
  19. As far as I am aware the cadmins have never had a weekly blog or video for the server. We have had players post videos on nice builds which are very good but I think if the cadmins showed what they do, how certain situations are handled, what is in store for the creative server ect it would be quite a nice thing and it should be successful, thrawn's blog was very successful when she did it.
  20. That sounds good but the sort of mini games I'm talking about are the ones where you have plugins to make them work such as the skywars sort of thing or the walls ect.
  21. So basically like the CTF event just without the flag? I wouldn't like this, what if someone just wants to play on their own, or people don't enjoy it as their friends are all together on a different team and they are stuck with players they don't get along with? Or what is to stop people from using their alts to get into a different team. There are tones of dangers to this, while in theory it sounds fun for a whole revision? that would bring up problems.
  22. what if we just had mobs like in vanilla minecraft and disabled the eggs and allowed breeding?
  23. Let's not get into arguments, we should try to find solutions to problems brought up. Survival will be having these changes it's going for a test if it's not a success then we will not continue with the plugins, if it is a success then we will, but why can't we have a test server for it? if it's just temporary why don't we have two survival servers up with the different styles? It would make a good comparison between the two directions survival could go in and it would keep most players happy both those that want survival to stay more vanilla and those that want survival to try these new plugins. Is there a big problem with putting up another server? If so that's fair enough but if we can do it then it's worth giving it a shot.
