  1. If you're around long enough you'll get hit by a Rev. change eventually. Back in the day my Trapped Temple got a warp and then the next day the new rev. came! Another time I was near done with a big-ish build, that's why you'll see two very similar builds on two different revs a lot of the time: Rev. 14: Hull Rev. 15: Space Battleship Yamato But it ends up being no big deal as the finished product is that much better for having had a prototype.
  2. Thanks, my maze is too large for the island. I think my max dimension is around 160.
  3. I miss my votes!! :( Definitely too close to call, especially since it hardly hurts anything to keep it.
  4. Slightly less known is the quote "Never take a friend for granted, because some day you may wake up and realize that you have lost a dimond while you were busy collecting stones." Even fewer realize the quote goes on from there to say: "So keep an eye on your friend or you may have to run after them when they eventually steal your dimonds."
  5. I think the other thread is now fully focused on purely CTF style event and these suggestions would be distracting there now.
  6. I could also get behind letting the players know its a Zombie/Mob survival event, with your suggestion being the expected scenario, but instead place them within an extensively large cavern, similar to the story (book/movie) "The City of Ember". (It should come complete with a town hall with Bill Murry as the Mayor.) Mobs would come out of the surrounding darkness, which could be explored and mined
  7. Whenever we have a CTF, the most popular question is...well: "Are the servers up yet?"... But aside from that, the next most popular question is, for various reasons, "When is the next CTF?" I understand we don't want burn-out on events since they're a revenue generator, but I personally think 6 months is too long between events. Note: They don't all have to be CTF. <Glances over at 3 separate forum posts about some form of Zombie Survival.> So I'd like to ask the Admins, and Techs to put their heads together, look at your calendars and declare at least a month, within the next 6, when we'll have the next event so we have something to tell our players at the end of CTF this weekend. We don't have to announce the exact day, or what the event will be, this is hype and it thrives on ambiguous details. Why is this important to do now? CTF is our largest advertising opportunity to reach a huge number of players from all different servers simultaneously and really make them excited about their community. I volunteer (Oh hell, what am I getting myself into.) to preside over a month long contest on C to build the starting base and LZ of a Zombie Survival event if the Tech's think they can pull that off as their next event. Ideally this contest will kick off following CTF, and if you will, announced at the end of CTF. Players will build anywhere on C, and mail me the coords of their build, built to certain specifications (i.e. less than 150x150x150 cube), I will select the top 5 builds (ensuring they meet the specifications that will work for the event) and put them up for a community poll as to which is best. The poll will close a week later. Giving the community the final decision I think will give our players a much stronger feeling of involvement in their events. There will still be plenty of room for surprises and secrets. I'd like you guys (Tech's and Admin's) to give me a Go/Delay decision on this potential contest by Thursday at 4pm EST. I really do think we can go for this and there is enough community interest in some form of Zombie/Mob Survival to be worthwhile. This idea makes CTF not just one big thing for our community, but several. S and P, can you offer some similar ideas to announce at the end of CTF? Perhaps the next arena tournament or pig races or whatever it is you do with blocks?
  8. What size of maze? Do we have flag area walls selected officially so we can start duplicating a design?
  9. You destroyed 66 workbenches, 20 melons, 10 furnaces you didn't create. You "smithy" is made from 314 gold blocks. Looking into the logs in more detail it appears you were greifed, didn't report it, and attempted to correct the damage yourself. Remember, you are never allowed to destroy another player's build without their permission. You have been unbanned, but please understand that you should report all greif in the future with /modreq. That way we can quickly correct it, and more easily apprehend the parties responsible.
  10. I would be interested in a moving spawn. Rather than having the map periodically expand outwards I think it would be interesting to have it expand linearly and the spawn should move with it. Or rather a new spawn should be created with every move and the previous one will become a warp. This will prevent the area around spawn from being stagnant over a revision. What do you think? Upvote if you support this idea. If you think I'm off my rocker downvote. If you have a better idea, or way to improve it make a new post and i promise I'll read it.
  11. There is concern that user's use the buttons rather than engaging in conversation. I would posit that such "shy" users would still not voice an opinion if you took away their current outlet for involvement, further alienating them. My earlier point still stands that even vocal users will not feel the need to repeat an already stated point, and the buttons give an uncluttered method to showing support.
  12. I would like a clear explanation of the use of this system. From my perspective it simply gives petiole an easy way to agree or disagree with a statement without needing to clutter the forum with terse responses that would need to be collaged by the person interested. I'd like it if each user's name had their "score" (=upvotes-downvotes), much like eBay's seller system, instead of having to open each user's profile.
  13. I second this event. I think this needs to happen within a month or two, instead of waiting 6 months between events.
  14. Can you make a diagonal section of wall? That way we could make this an octagon and more closely fit the circle.
  15. With the weather going the way it is tomorrow, I won't be skydiving as planned. So I look forward to seeing ya'll at the meeting.
  16. I expect you to be back at 110%! Haha, take care, and get well soon! /me signs the get well card.
  17. I can confirm that C has a jail. I wish the /jail command worked to send them there instead of having to manually teleport people there.
  18. Your suggestion is good, even from my perspective on C where language is tolerated less. A lot of this does happen in the background through PM's, but maybe more can happen. Roll-backs can happen anytime, and it is a good reminder that it is in the interest of keeping good players on the server to make sure we follow a due process they expect in a fairly moderated environment. On C, I like to make use of the "5 minute ban", otherwise known as our jail, for offenses that are minor. I must admit, my most recently appealed ban resulted from me not using that system and would have been better served by it.
  19. Unfortunately I am planning to be jumping out of a plane during the meeting. They won't allow me to bring my phone along or you could be sure I'd mumble during freefall.
  20. On that note, anyone with an Android Tablet or phone can use Voxel Generator which is beautiful for all shapes, including circles.
  21. So if I get this right, there are two team maps (identical with different colors of wool). Is there a third map for KOTH and mini-games?
  22. While I personally cannot help implement a new script. I would like to make sure you know about the /nv (nightvision) command.
  23. Previously someone mentioned the stalemate that occurred. I propose the following resolution: The rules should state: Flag bearers are not allowed to enter their base (Protected area.), only the flag capture area. Modreq could serve to identify the problem, and /thor will resolve it. Simple.
  24. Due to the (so far) small amount of grief, consider this a wake-up call to needing to carefully control your account. Thank you for taking the time to properly appeal. Unbanned.
