  1. Players also have the option to /ignore until the next restart if a particular user gets too colorful and they don't like it. I know it may not be ideal but it's there.
  2. I suspect censoring people will have exactly the opposite effect of what we are trying to accomplish. I usually just keep half an eye on chat and if it starts to get *too* out of hand i pipe in, but our role isn't to play word police and i don't think it will go over well with the community as a whole if we try to play that game. generally as long as chat isn't being abusive i feel that people should be able to express themselves with whatever language they feel is appropriate.
  3. Not a clue. May be worth looking into. I think it's only a problem if people do not know they are being recorded, if we call it that it may be fine. /me is not a lawyer.
  4. If there is anything specific you guys want me to focus on let me know, here or trello I like checklists :) if it gets made I will check it off lol
  5. I should be able to pop on tomorrow afternoon to work on it. I'll check out the card for info :)
  6. Recording is a touchy subject, legally. We may have to stick with transcribed notes for now. I did try to attend but the time was during my work day and I got sidetracked very quickly. I should be able to make more in the future!
  7. I'm not super at free-handing things but I'd be willing to help out if I can.
  8. Is the aim to do this weekly? Maybe set up a sign up (Google doc/trello/magic scheduling board somewhere?) for a month in advance (or a few months) and let people sign up for as many days and times they are available for. Then publish that list to the server.
  9. Winners circle in the lobby! Reserve some space in the lobby for "event winners" and have a statue of them placed in the winners circle. This would probably only make sense for minecraft based events. But it would be fun recognition on the server itself.
  10. I do not have it. I did download tf2 but haven't played it yet.
  11. If we can do them later on that Friday I can join. I don't get home from work until 6-630pm (eastern time).
  12. Are you looking for admin sign ups or anyone sign ups?
  13. They should still have to cover it manually with glass as usual. But maybe then as part of the req say "please enable pvp and replace glass with barrier" - so you still have to do the work, you're not getting free builds its just being replaced. :) Hm. Should still have some sort of roof and edges though. Maybe just replace the side walls with barrier or something but you have to still outline it with something other than clear. That way you can still see where it ends and see through it.
  14. Hahaha that was my "suggestion" and it was mostly made in jest. I can't imagine having to sift through all of that.
  15. What about barrier blocks? If you have a pvp area build as normal and then you have the option when the pvp area is approved to have admin replace the glass with clear barriers? You'd still have to build the object but the option would be there so you could have a fully visible arena?
  16. I really think the best way is to get to know the players and interact with them as if (shocker) we also were players (try not to fall out of your chairs). Giving certain people trial privileges could be easily misconstrued and I don't see that as a good thing for us, especially when people already view it as "us vs them." (Hypothetical: what happens if someone is given test powers and then they are taken away? What image does that send? Or someone is modded with no test powers)
  17. Also I agree with barlimore who apparently posted at the same time as me so I didn't see it :)
  18. This may cause more problems than it's worth. who decides who is "trusted" and who is not? what about people who play for fun and never cause problems but maybe aren't considered for moderators for whatever reason - why aren't they trusted? I think the social implications of this far outweigh the benefits. I would support something similar to what I saw on s, where you could "buy" a flowing water bucket (with heavy misuse penalties). Maybe some sort of criteria to allow player who have never been a problem to flow their own liquids, but region creation and chat commands I would not be comfortable with. Without proper training those are murky areas.
  19. /list-all was taken down due to lag ;) But yeah this would be cool. I don't mind doing reqs on s or c but I don't normally play those servers so it's usually only when someone comes to p for an SOS. Even something like /check c or /check s would be neat. Depending on which method is less buggy id love it.
  20. Less worried about specs, more worried about ability to play :)
