  1. You guys are doing an excellent job, indeed! I'll be looking forward towards Friday!
  2. You remove us the option to dislike a post, yet you keep the option to upvote it. In my opinion, if you're going to take action against downvotes you might as well remove upvotes as well, because the entire system is really circlejerky at the moment.
  3. This is not what he's saying, and you assuming that is the case is really ignorant in my opinion. He is saying that an opinion-related poll should not be the determining factor for removing downvotes, regardless of countless people saying that the vote system is rubbish. He never said that the community should not be able to handle these votes, he was referring to the fact that a poll that should have been seen as an opinion based poll was taken in as a "community decision."
  4. Couldn't you show us (at least a screenshot of it's existence would work) some proof? I appreciate your explanation, but I would like further evidence this has been discussed. Let me reword how I approach this. I appreciate the fact that you took the time to explain this to us, but I would like that future threads of this nature not be closed immediately without much discussion. Thank you.
  5. Also, since Mrloud was quick to reply with this response, could we please be shown that this was actually looked into, and to what degree it was? Thank you.
  6. Crock, the point of this is to provide an example of this working, rather than just proposing it. Preferably, there would be minimal drama in this thread.
  7. I am really confused regarding the relevance of this (as I am sure others are too). It's not like letting your community vote on the representatives for the community would be a bad thing - In fact, it would be a good thing. I am really disappointing that you judge the entire community on that thread, Switch. You do understand that staff members can have personal disagreements (either with past drama issues regarding users, or with personal issues that root back from before one becomes a staff member). This all being said, I still think that assuming that becoming a moderator removes all bias, thus the point irreverent. I feel as though giving users the ability to vote on the people who represent them in the server's staff community is very important, and I think this should be considered in a more realistic manor.
  8. I was noticing on the wiki pages for the survival server and the creative server that a number of the cartographs (otherwise referred to as cartos) for recent maps were missing. The survival server is currently missing cartos for revision 23, revision 24 and revision 25. The creative server is currently missing cartos for revision 25. I was wondering whether or not these could get updated and added onto the wiki, as it would be nice to be able to take a glance at the things we built during these revisions without having to download the entire map. Thanks, Avada
  9. Hey, I had a quick question regarding people spectating this event. Will they have the ability to /tp to participants? If so, how will this work? Will spectators have coordinates spoofed to prevent cheating (cheating where spectators tell players in the event where an enemy is, etc)? If spectators don't have access to /tp, will they be allowed access to something like /compass? Thank you in advance. I am really looking forward for this event, it looks like a lot of fun.
  10. This sounds really fun. I'll be looking forward for this. On a side note though: Will there be roads/a spawn point next survival revision? I know I should probably wait for an official post, but I was wondering what kind of spawn we would be looking into to next revision. Thanks!

Is there going to be a spawn next revision? (please add a spawn)
  12. I agree that this should be resolved. I thought we also use an inactive moderator list for inactive moderators, in addition to an active one? Could the moderator list (inactive, alphabetical order, etc) be updated?
  13. I knew I hadn't read it correctly. Keep up the good work!
  14. Was there a specific reason behind adding this plugin to survival? It seems that if users wished to clear land, that it would become impossible with the server adding trees back automatically. It seems it would also have lots of side-affects, making the game play even more difficult. Otherwise, I really like all the things on that change log. I'm looking forward for 26.
  15. Real life should always come first in health situations. Hopefully you feel better :)
  16. I think that the idea behind banning alt accounts permanently is to discourage users who are banned and are attempting to gain unauthorized access to the servers. I don't really see any issues behind simply adding extra days/weeks onto a ban time if a user violates this rule (rather than banning the alt permanently), and unbanning both the original user + the alt once the new ban time is passed.
  17. I would also like to see these things removed. I don't think the two of these features really does anything to help the PvP situation on S.
  18. I had a question regarding random spawning. Will you spawn randomally once, and then respawn in the same place (the place you spawned randomally the first time), or will it be random every time? Is this going to be something where it is similar to /randloc (where you spawn randomally anywhere), or will you have a number of random spawn points? Thank you.
  19. Let's not get ahead of ourselves yet. The meeting (from what I understand) was a brainstorming process, and no final decision has been made yet. I feel as though pushing for a chaos reversion so early would either create unnecessary drama, or would rush the technical admins into creating a poorly coded plugin due to the lack of time. Let's stay on the current reversion until a final decision has been made, with a week to a month leeway following this decision before the technical admins understand to what extent/have an oppertunity to code what they'd need to code.
  20. I doubt people will stay after their chests were all lockpicked. This plugin (in my opinion) would put an opposite effect in play, where people who play on nerd.nu regularary will get frustrated with the server and leave. Please don't add this.
  21. Chaos is fun while the map is fresh, and there are still people to kill. When chaos begins to get boring (and nobody stays on for more than 10 minutes) is when there is nothing left to do on the map. I guess a way to make a chaos server more compelling is to put an old nerd.nu map onto the server for a brief period of time, and let it get torn apart. Then again, chaos tends to be an event/survival end of the rev thing.
  22. This is all getting silly. When many of us joined these servers, they were stable and stong places to play with friends. At some point this last year, it has evolved far from that. It's always is frustrating to look at the small percentage of players who have control over everything. People have always kept quiet, fearing a ban, fearing people thinking poorly of them. As far as I am aware, these servers were built to be simple, fast and friendly minecraft servers. It is a shame that it has had to come to this point, where it has become almost the opposite. People should have the ability to talk to admins, without fearing that they will be banned. Back in 2011, you could ask a head admin about an issue you had, and they would do their best to resolve it. Admins and mods alike, they always had your best interests at heart. If change was possible, I would request that the servers get rid of this horrible dictator issue. Nobody should be called out, nobody should be shamed. It's a shame it's had to come to this, especially because this is a block computer game, where we place blocks in a formation, and at some point build things.
  23. I don't see anything wrong with this idea. Votifier is simply a way for people to vote for your server, regardless of getting rewards or not. The way people add rewards, is with a listener, which is a seprate plugin. I don't see anything wrong with voting just to see the server become bigger, and maybe there is a way to implement a contest with the voting, making for a friendly competetion. In my opinion, there should be no rewards, but people should feel inspired to vote for the server if they enjoy the servers, and they want to see them grow more.
  24. I was able to do /cprotect on a chest, and it said it went through. I cannot confirm that this was sucsessful, but from my side it said it was. Here is a picture of what I got when I did it. Hopefully I don't fit in the "how stupid you are" part of this section. Thanks!
  25. Honestly, I feel the way things are ran now, is an okay way to be doing things. Yes, maybe people feel it is too anonymous the way that mod nominations are done, but as people said above, it does keep the popularity part of nominating moderators off the table. I agree that moderator nominations is ought to be done where moderators vote, and members have the option to message a head admin, and share advice about that user. On the topic with ban voting, this is a good idea IMO. If there are ever high profile bans (like warwickftw) users should be able to get the ability to discuss the ban in public, and decide of the ban ought to be forever, or just for a shorter time. Another example that this could be used, is for moderators to vote in private mod chat, to avoid the tensions. I am not saying there is room for this idea to go wrong, but it would be a progressive idea, again IMO.
