  1. Villager protections is something I proposed in Rev14, but any suggestion I came up with was shot down by the then Padmin team. I'll bring it up with the others the next chance I get.
  2. I can't speak for the other Padmins, but I am not interested in adding a very large PvP area to a PvE that restricts players from exploring the map safely from other players. This isn't inherently a bad idea, but it's not a good idea for PvE.
  3. Honestly sounds like too much work for you guys just for 4 hours
  4. We could all do a UHC round... that's pretty fun takes limited effort to set up
  5. To be fair it was on the subreddit... but yeah
  6. Uhh ... we only updated to 1.8.7 from 1.8. C45Y already made a post on /r/mcpublic about the possible causes: https://www.reddit.com/r/mcpublic/comments/3jtrlp/whysolaggius/cuscw35?context=3 And please, you don't speak for the entire community. I highly doubt everyone wants to play a bare-bones 1.8 pure vanilla server. A lot of the bells and whistles are the things that players have wanted over the years, which is why they exist. Population numbers never stay ~200 for long. They always have equalized out to ~60 online at any given time for quite a few years now. And players would hate us for suddenly scrapping a map. Clearly.
  7. Who said the pattern was going to be permanently fixed /me laughs menacingly

    PvE protections

    Are we even talking about last rev? No. Your "city" had effort put into it, therefor had the right to be protected as such. The dispute we had last rev was the eligibility of having a /place, so don't come bringing bad "evidence". Your builds this rev are of less quality and hastily built, therefor they won't be protected. This is something I even said last night, before you made this post;

    PvE protections

Low quality, and hastily made builds are something we try very hard to avoid protecting, since more times than not, it's used to claim land. In this case, I would classify it as the latter, and from experience with seeing what you have built and how you are always outside of spawn, either laying claims with slabs or spammed fence blocks. We intentionally set out this rev to block all claims from existing close to spawn, with favour to more high-quality builds that deserve to be there, rather than ample amounts of unused land. Protection requests near spawn should and will be scrutinized to ensure that's the case.
  10. I think sticking with Child's Play is a good idea.
  11. As you all know now, the new rev has been announced... so we are once again looking for staff to add their mark to spawn! The theme this rev for spawn is "Corporate Maniacal Overlord", with spawn's main build being the HQ. Stuff you can do: Secrets, puzzles, or anything fun you may want to add! But please don't take too much room incase others want to do stuff as well. Grounds and gardens are a little barren... not entirely my strong-suit. And any other suggestions will be taken! As before, the main spawn build, in this case the tower, is off-limits unless you specifically ask me. The worldborder is close to spawn, so no peaking allowed! :P If you would like to help out, just comment here, or catch me in-game via /mb or /mbg. From there one of us would have to whitelist you, and you'll be able to connect using /server pve-dev. Remember, anything in spawn, or just on pve-dev in general is to be kept strictly confidential, and not shared with anyone not on staff! If you end up doing anything let me know, I'd love to see it!
  12. I think the joke he's making is that PvE itself isn't 6 years old. Survival and Creative were around quite a while longer before PvE started, so while it being impossible to have been a PvE player for 6 years, you could have been a nerd.nu player for 6 years. Also kittypuppet isn't an admin? Unless you're referring to someone else.
  13. I love the spawn portals location this rev, it just fits so thematically well. But I understand the problems that it had, and don't worry, next rev it should be pet friendly!
  14. Also a 5x5 nether portal arrangement would work best, a good round number, easily dividable into military alliances when the late-rev wars begin, and has midway points so you dont have to travel too far. The problem I had last time you suggested it, and still now, is that I don't think its a good idea to be bound by solid end dates. There needs to be wiggle room. Maybe if people are still interested, we could consider map expansions and such, but binding rev length to a precise date isn't what we want to do. We've yet to decide on the future of how our portals work, but the main problem I encountered this rev is that too large or oddly shaped portals could give players fall damage, which is no good.
  15. We're looking into the possibility of map expansions.
  16. We've seen the concerns regarding PvE's current state is this post, and are aware of the issues and hope to correct them in a fashion with the upcoming rev. As Sapphric said, we have been working on the new rev for a while now, and I just wanted to give an update on what we have going on; a sneak peak if you will. The map is going to be considerably smaller than the current map, and the rev length will not be 6 months again. We hope to retain these promises for the next rev, and based on your feedback, for the succeeding rev's. Sorry for the last-ish post, meant to do this sooner! Feel free to discuss this here or on the subreddit.
  17. I don't think it should be necessary to use mumble all the time. Most of the time there's no one I care to talk to anymore... or I'd rather spend my time watching movies or listening to music.
  18. Different as in different than inactive or on-leave admins, which you explained above. Former admins who have stepped down for whatever reason are dealt with in the same manner as former moderators.
  19. I agree that this has been a problem in the past. And I know it works differently for former admins, I'm content with how they are currently handled in regards to returning to staff. Thank you for the response and answering my question.
  20. Returning admins from inactivity or planned leave of absence, will they have to go through the moderator loop before rejoining the team? Will they be allowed to straight up rejoin the admin team?
  21. So what about involuntary inactivity? Vacation time? Speaking as a Padmin, I wouldn't want to see TheRandomnatrix or Sapphric removed due to these two reasons respectively. This outline would do that, and I value their experience and wouldn't want to see them let go. Is this activity you say strictly in-game activity? If so this would have decimated the head-admin team many times over.
  22. Not interested in this at all. Young people hardly ever stay long, unless they are specifically playing with people they know in real life. Most of the time they grief, hack, ect and get banned quickly anyways. I do not think we should cater to this market. I do not believe in censorship.
  23. Ohh ohh yeah lets do this: Visitor: See but no touch Player: Free to do whatever Veteran: Shiny name tag Trusted: Low mod powers Mods: Super-duper mod powers Admins: Super-duper-super mod powers I think the word for it is... ranks? Yeah lets have ranks guys! /s
  24. This has zero relevance to the topic, and the entire sub-forum.
