  1. So what's it like living in the UK?
  2. What's it like living in the UK?
  3. No, it's not. Minecraft version 1.7.7 was released today, and your client must've automatically updated. The nerd servers have not yet updated, so 1.7.6/1.7.7 clients cannot connect. If you want to connect to the nerd servers, you'll have to downgrade to 1.7.5 at least.
  4. If they're placing a switch or button or something to empty your dispenser, then that's been ruled as griefing in the past. See if you can get a mod to check logblock around the dispenser, see if anyone placed a button/switch/redstonetorch/etc.
  5. I would love to pvp in my Survival Rev 5 base, I had quite the trap setup.
  6. Just wanted to add that I also experience this issue frequently.
  7. The poll and the comments you linked seem generally in favor of it. As of this writing it's 8 yes and 6 no...
  8. I agree, work on the new revision shouldn't have to wait until after an announcement. It would make more sense to get most of the work of done, then announce the revision, and allocate a couple days to bug testing. Then if building takes longer than you estimate, you've got a little wiggle room.
  9. I think we should turn Friendly Fire back off.

  11. I think this plugin is sorely needed. As it stands, there is currently no feasible way to speak doge in-game. This is unacceptable.

  13. Slide - would it be possible to expand the border a bit? It looks like all the plots are claimed save one.
  14. https://github.com/ZachBora/PlotMe/blob/master/src/com/worldcretornica/plotme/PMCommand.java#L1912
  15. No, /plotme auto finds the next plot out in a spiral from plot (0,0). It would only go outside the border if every other plot inside the border was already taken.
  16. I agree, I can think of some cool designs where players spawn facing all three portals... but that would require the "spawn" point to be opposite the portals, instead of in the center. Can we please remove this requirement?
  17. I fully endorse syn's solution, it's much nicer than mine. :P
  18. I just want to speak up in defense of roleplay. The roleplay rule means that you can create builds on C, but you can't use them. I can make a hospital, but I can't pretend to be a doctor in it. I can make the USS Enterprise, but I can't put on a Captain Kirk skin and send redshirts off to die. I see no problem restricting sexual / inappropriate / pony roleplay, but restricting ALL roleplay eliminates the second half of the point of building in creative mode.
  19. I'm glad to hear that the build contest is still happening, but even were it to start tomorrow, it would be some time before the contest was done, and the winners voted on / announced. I'm just suggesting this schematic as something temporary that isn't what we have currently.
  20. The hub needs to change. I suggest we run a build contest on C for a new hub, created for the reddit servers by the players? I think a build contest would be a great event for C. In the meantime, though, we can't keep the current hub, especially if we start advertising. We can't let new players think THAT represents the nerd servers. I modified this old build of ours to work as nerd's hub, if you'd like to use it, at least until we can get a nerd-built hub going. It's not perfect, but it can work until the build contest. 21. Yes, but spending an hour building a temporary aqueduct, then filling it in when done to re-secure my base is hardly ideal. I don't know what dispenser trick you're referring to, but the water/lava that comes out of dispensers does not flow. I've never ONCE had a request for water take 3 minutes. If it were 3 minutes, there'd be no issue with safebuckets. It can already take hours, and it's the beginning of the rev. Towards the end of the revision, it can be days before a mod comes online to do requests. You're minimizing the downsides of safebuckets, and exaggerating its upsides.
  22. I disagree, you can see at a glance that S is non-vanilla, with the preponderance of water ladders and lava blades. All the plugin does is stop water from destroying redstone contraptions. If the argument is about which one changes the day-to-day player interactions with water and lava the most, hands-down safebuckets is less vanilla. Firstly, C is a different creature, because buckets are infinite, so the ability to grief with water and lava is much greater. Safebuckets should probably remain on C, but we're talking about S. I also think chaos is a different beast, as griefing is allowed. Safebuckets trades player convenience for preventing a specific type of grief. The question is whether it's still worth that inconvenience, with the improvements in Logblock's ability to roll back lava and water. That's the only thing that logblock can't roll back properly, which is the point of the plugin I posted above. With such a plugin, I can't imagine an instance of griefing that would take more than a few minutes to rollback. And even if there were, the amount of mod time saved by not doing water/lava flow requests (90+% of modreqs) would more than balance it out. By the way, the same redstone issue can arise with someone with a pick destroying the blocks underneath redstone machines. Almost every mob grinder design I can think of requires flowing water. Flowing water makes building in the end easier. Not having to wait for an infinite water source makes many other types of building faster. Flowing water makes building farms easier. There are millions of uses for flowing water. +1, I built a skeleton grinder last week, there were no mods on for over 6 hours, I ended up building a aqueduct from the closest ocean to make my own flowing water.
  23. I think this is a much better solution than SafeBuckets. I spent this morning making this: https://github.com/roastnewt/WaterProofBlocks It's a relatively simple plugin, and shouldn't cause much lag, as the event that it cancels is only called when the water is updating. I can tweak it however the mods like, if they want to use it.
  24. A change I'd like to see is some sort of announcement when large changes to survival gameplay are made. There still has been no announcement about friendly fire being enabled in SimpleClans, and the ff toggle permission being removed. Luckily our clan figured it out when we weren't in a large fight or something.
