  1. Cool Story Sis I wasn't being snide, I was just insisting I don't know what may end up keeping him busy for a majority of the time. Notice how I listed what I know is keeping Dumbo busy (school) now, I don't know about Redwall maybe he too goes to school, or perhaps he works...To be honest I don't know a thing about your relationship with him other than it exists, and that is because of some sort of hot-tub related incident. Perhaps you are what occupies him. If that's the case, then so be it. But I do hate to tell you that by saying so as you did, you may unearth some unhappiness within the community as you've just insisted that your presence will be holding back progress on nerd.nu updates... I was hopeful Redwall would be able to balance this important position in the community into his life better than previous tech admins, now I'm not so sure.
  2. I like your thinking, but alas, it is not reasonable to assume College Student Dumbo52, and (not entirely sure what occupies redwall generally) Redwall_hp could spend a whole week doing nothing but editing, testing, and rebuilding all of our plugins. Give them at least 2 weeks.
  3. I FUCKING GOT A SPEEDING TICKET TODAY FOR TRYING TO PASS A SEMI TO GET IN THE RIGHT LANE TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY BUT WAS CUT OFF. FORCED TO GO TO THE NEXT STREET AND AN OFFICER DRIVING A COMPLETELY UNMARKED FORD F150 PULLED ME OVER AND WROTE ME A TICKET FOR FUCKING $120. HE DID HOWEVER ALLOW ME THE OPTION TO PAY $160 TO COMPLETELY ERRADICATE THIS TICKET FROM MY EXISTANCE... BUT I HAVE TO ATTEND A FUCKING NIGHT-TIME DRIVING SAFETY CLASS.
  4. Can I ask why and how people have been accessing nerd.nu via semalt? Thats not exactly a site that should be holding .64% of our visitors... If anything it should hold no more than 1, that being the owner of nerd.nu's profile on it.
  5. Gender Identity EDIT: DAMNIT Toby, you beat me.
  6. I never said I do let people send trolls and griefers to the page, I'm just well aware it happens. Perhaps because the wording of the page hasn't changed at all since its single visual update to make it even more trolly than before when it just said NO. Since then it has always had serious wording, only to leave players feeling like a letdown as it forwarded to a few different youtube videos looping. The Trololol song, rickroll, He-man, MLP music remixs, nyancat, and most recently sweetbrown. I forgot which video it was, but at one point we had text appear over the video saying something like 'you've been trolled by MCPublic, we look very carefully at all of the names and players on the server, if you actually feel someone has been overlooked, please inform a member of staff in game or on IRC'. that IS the big issue, the stupid troll'y video that plays after you've submitted a name has engraved in players heads the idea that the page is fake and the name goes nowhere.
  7. As I suggested this 'feature' be added to combat these issues. Yes, I said that. which is why I said this would be done when the player is banned. Let us not forget that some players never appeal their bans, which would completely prevent the ability to have a clean and empty list anyways if we were to do it at the unban time. Yes, but they don't, and they continue to not do so. I've purged the list present on C more than a few times with various sort algorithms each time. I can tell you that since my last purge, there are approximately 3 more names added who are both banned and muted. Based on your response, I must not have made it clear just what I am asking, i'll state it exactly as it should work. when a player becomes banned. "/ban username reasonreasonreason" the server will automatically go to all 3 servers and say "/unmute username" if user was muted on one or multiple servers, they will be unmuted and removed from the ongoing list. so essentially we're modifying the /ban command to include /unmute on all 3 servers as a part of its several tasks.
  8. I was going to say, I noticed that and remember the reasoning behind it too, it was when they were building the randloc command, verros used it and it took him to right outside the farlands. One single block was generated there, and it left the cartograph in shambles.
  9. To be honest here, we all know who we're going to recommend, do we generally look to the applyformod page list regardless? To match our suit for professionalism among staff and the community, i agree, remove it. however considering a majority of the people who are sent to the page are simply trolls/griefers who join the server all of once and ask for mod... I've never found it to be helpful. Now that we have the mod suggestions section of the forum as well, we don't have to worry about potentially forgetting someone as we can post a suggestion any time we see fit rather than when voting comes up.
  10. As a voice who has been ignored by a head admin in the past, I see this as a wonderful way for all of them to realize that not everyone is comfortable with the choices they (many of whom do not partake in the "community") make in terms of who we can vote for. As it stands, contacting any of them personally Usually leads to the others not finding out and/or nothing getting done about it. This theory has been tested many times, by not only myself but other members on the server. The players voices do need to be heard, as that has been what has slowly been killing off our player base on nerd.nu. Jchance did a good job as a cadmin with cleanup of many years with little to no improvement on C. World Edit has been a requested feature since the early days, and no jumps were made to even give us a single one of those features until his arrival. He listened to the player voices, and now C is quite a happier place. But that's just C. This method gives a list of people who feel one way or the other, and allows the admins to ask us specifically why we feel that way. Just as it should be when our concern is preventing this Minecraft community from dying off.
  11. Daeaygo, we have a lobby to handle that improper client issue. TBH we shouldn't have direct connect links anymore. Few servers do. But that's besides the point... "I heard of this server via a friend, I want to join" *puts s.nerd.nu into addressbar in browser* "ok, how do I join?" "ooh, look it says Minecraft servers! What's a minecraft server?" *types minecraft into address bar and gets Bing search results* "so you're telling me I have to pay money and download something from this very sketchy looking minecraft.net?" Point being, if they can download minecraft, they can download a modpack. Sure, installation may be a different story, then again how many people who join the server actually store minecraft in their /program files/ directory?
  12. It was an example. But I wouldn't put it as an unquestionable addition if we move to modpacks... There are weapons outside of swords that could be added, created, and enhance the gameplay of S.
  13. Personally I like the idea of moving to a modpack, I think it would really draw people back into survival, adding features like guns, and perhaps other military items like tanks, or mods could very well be just what we need to bring our player base back. But this change would almost require a new name. the few stragglers remaining on the current s.nerd.nu that will attempt to join the new S and not realize they need a modpack, or from other places on the internet. We need to properly make it known of these changes so the right players will take advantage of it. I guess what I am getting at is 'if we had a skywars server, we wouldn't simply call it s.nerd.nu, it is a survival based server, sure... but it's simply not nerdnu's pvp survival with an environment'
  14. Essentially as the title says, Unmute upon banning. I come to c.nerd.nu frequently and check the muted player list, it's through the roof. i've cut it down myself by a lot however I found a trend that I feel can be a simple fix. Many of the players on the list are also banned players. If they are banned, they cannot join the server, until they've appealed their ban. So, as a result of banning, there is no reason for banned players to remain muted. This also avoids the issue of a formerly banned player coming back to nerd.nu and continuing to be punished by our muted list. I spoke about this before, but I am not sure with whom or where so I apologize if this is completely an echo of something I previously said. But seriously this will solve much of the excessive mute list related issues.
  15. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't forgotten, it's happened before when we were a very crowded server and people were accusing people of being hackers, and us of handing out positions to random people because they visited a one of the other servers that they don't play on... yadda yadda.
  16. Not sure if you're aware, but LRO was removed from the moderator list, but not added to a different position on the staff list in conjunction with her promotion. in short <h3 style="clear:left;">Event</h3> <ul class="playerlist"> <li><a href="http://redditpublic.com/wiki/Player:LadyRavenOwl"><img src="https://nerd.nu/avatar/avatar.php?d=96&p=LadyRavenOwl" /></a><p>LadyRavenOwl</p></li> </ul> </div> needs to be added.
  17. Avada, you can't do that as it is, region restrictions will cut-off anything that doesn't fit within the region, if its 1x1x1 and you're pasting an entire mountain range, it will only fill a 1x1x1. Also, if we were to put a limit on it like he said, that would only further decrease you're ability to use it within your own build, let alone other peoples builds.
  18. TeamFortress2 Counterstrike (and sequels) Garrys Mod (not sure which modes, I suggest far too many to pick right now) Terraria League of Legends Dota 2 Rust Simcity (2013) Flight Simulator Farming Simulator Civilization 5 Need for Speed (World, or others that support online multiplayer) Super Smash Bros 4 Mario Kart 8 Forza ( which ever one is preferred by everyone else) GTA 5 Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare
