  1. I look forward to your reply! It sounds as though there could be some misunderstood or outdated information about our policies out there. I'll try to clear up anything that may be unclear.
  2. I'm not quite sure I understand what you're talking about here. Town mayors DO run their cities as they see fit. Mods and admins don't meddle in the internal politics of the towns. I'm not sure how region permissions factor into this. Also, cities are free to remove players from their cities if they so choose, but I don't think allowing mayors to remove said players' builds at will. Then there's nothing to stop someone from kicking a player because they don't like their build and removing it "because they can". That'll only lead to more drama. Also, what are these "changes to region permission policies" you're talking about? I don't think the way region perms have changed very much, if at all, since I began playing 4-5 years ago. To my knowledge, protecting large, unbuilt sections of land has never been a thing. It's been a thing on the other servers, I know, but not on PvE because of the potential for abuse. As for your point about deterring cities from building a large pre-planned build, lack of formalized land claiming does not seem to be an issue. We've had many large builds over the revs. We also have a note in the rules about allowing other builds space. If someone were to go up to a large build and plop down a house right there, provided the large build was there first, we would ask them to move. This is not really an issue that comes up that often outside of maybe the first week or two of the rev. EDIT: I will note that players are allowed to build a border and "claim" their land, but its up to them to manage any disputes that show up, because we won't protect empty land. Also, having a border will show us that they were there first if the admins have to step in to deal with the land dispute. I feel as if you're vastly overestimating how much work mods/admins have to do on a daily basis. Water/lava flow reqs and protection reqs do not take very long at all, and most land disputes are already handled by the players without word of them ever even reaching the staff. I appreciate your concern for our workload, but I assure you, we have plenty of time for fun. We even caution all new moderators to make sure they actually play the game instead of DO ALL THE MODREQS (though it is sometimes tempting).
  3. The reason we don't announce ahead of time when the rev will end is because we've seen time and time and time again that when people know the rev is ending on such and such a date, nobody bothers to build ANYTHING for the last month or so. That was one of the big reasons the Padmins at the time moved away from 3-month revs every time. The server would only be populated for about 2 of them and no one would build in the last month because, "Why bother, the rev is ending soon."
  4. I don't really see the point. Why watch when you can play? Why play of you just want to watch? We need to be maximizing the number of people playing. Streaming things might work as advertising, but it doesn't seem worth the effort considering it could just lead to people deciding to not play.
  5. Here's me a few days ago in Paris:
  6. Told the Padmins about it ages ago, didn't even think to post here. I'll be largely inactive until October because I'm on a backpacking trip around Europe. I can still be reached on Facebook, snapchat, forums (I get emails), but I'll naturally be spending my time doing fun stuff instead. :)
  7. I hope so, that name was available last time I looked a few weeks ago.
  8. Hello, zafir247, thanks for appealing. You were banned for a large amount of crop grief, killing a player's animals, and griefing several builds around spawn. You are banned for one week. Please comment here no sooner than May 6, 2015, quoting the rule that you broke, to be unbanned. You can find the rules here. Ban Information: Ban for zafir247 on c.nerd.nu for Grief on PvE. 10. But yeah, I've been asking for the Twitter account to be changed for a month or two now, since as far as rebranding goes, changing a Twitter name is about the easiest thing to do. @NerdNuGaming sounds good.
  11. Thank you. You're unbanned. Welcome back!
  12. Hello! Thanks for appealing. You were banned for destroying and stealing someone's beacon pyramid. Not sure how you missed our rule about griefing. It doesn't matter that it was unprotected, you can't break blocks that belong to other players without their permission. I'm setting your ban length at two days. Please reply in this thread no sooner than April 9th to be unbanned, quoting the rule you broke in your post. You can find the rules at http://nerd.nu/rules. Please review them carefully. 14. We utilized the admin hunt/secret maze as a way for players to get Mooshrooms, but didn't want to invalidate all that work by allowing them to spawn naturally... yet. We'll probably remove that restriction sometime in the next few weeks. In the meantime, players can get Mooshrooms from whoever has some (I believe Endor received the two spawn eggs).
  15. Unbanned. Please behave. Always doublecheck whether you have permission to edit where someone else has been building. When in doubt, don't do it.
  16. Is there a meaning to your username? Or is just letters, ala XKCD?
  17. Hello, coolgamerovr90, thanks for appealing. You were banned primarily because of redstone grief, though some other grief did factor into it. You edited and broke two separate redstone doors, changed multiple signs, and removed part of someone's build, none of which you had permission to do. You also broke and moved a bed, which would cause people who slept in it to spawn at spawn. Considering the amount of grief, normally I would only ban for a few days or so. But you've been warned about editing other player's builds without permission before, multiple times. Therefore I'm setting your ban length at two weeks. Please make a new appeal no sooner than March 31st, quoting the rule you broke in your post. 18. We don't tell people how/what/where to build. As long as they're not breaking any rules, you can build what you want, where you want. We can speak with them, but building something large isn't against the rules. If he was building too close to someone else's build, that's a different story, but doesn't appear to be the case here. The build is not protected. I'm not sure what exactly you're concerned about. No rules are being broken that I can tell. What are you talking about when you say cities are "routinely told to scale back development?" I've never heard of this happening, or even being an issue. Please explain what you mean.
  19. Since it's normal for players to expect they can breed animals in other regions, I'd say go ahead and add it to any regions you make, just to be sure.
  20. Hello! Thanks for appealing. You were banned for breaking redstone along a rail line in the Nether, as well as other grief in the overworld. Please review the rules, then reply here quoting the rule that you broke to be unbanned, Ban Information: Ban for cheesepuffboy on c.nerd.nu for Redstone grief on P nerd.nu/appeal by Sapphric on 2014-10-09T15:56:13 (no more bans, no notes) Screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/OI7Ff
