I'm not going to ask why you whited out your monitor on the left, I'll just assume you were looking at porn.

I love Skraps' pearl idea, but the mob spawning one I'd be against if it were done by the player using Spawn Eggs. I think a command or ./modreq would be the best way as that way mobs can't just be spammed everywhere. Obviously we'd need to disable some mobs, such as the Wither, Enderdragon and Giant Slimes, but otherwise it sounds good to me. Another addition that would be nice is the ability to protect the mobs, likely by right-clicking it with something (a trapdoor or something, iono).

I find this an opportune time to mention the Head Admins. Don't get me wrong here, I have nothing against the Heads, but this has been an issue for a long time and no-one's brought it up. None of the Heads are active on the servers on a regular basis, and most often they pop in once a week or when the need arises. It's a bit strange to type in /seen (Head Admin) and get the response of (Head Admin) has not been seen before. I hardly think that's keeping up to the standard we had back in the Beta days, where our Admins were considered as players, not (from a new player's perspective) an unknown bunch of people that apparently oversee the servers and are never engaged in discussion outside of the forums/subreddit. Most of the work on nerd.nu is being handed down to the Survival Admins, but there's far less input than I'd expect at a time of need like this. I'd like to see this addressed, because frankly I'm not seeing anything getting done. The Techs do a decent amount of work, the Creative Admins are managing Creative just fine, the PvE Admins are managing the biggest third of nerd.nu, but what about the Heads? Jump on the servers and run /seen commands for each of the Heads, you'll see what I mean. I'm not blaming the Heads for any issues they have in real life that're keeping them away from nerd, but that doesn't indicate that we should drop the topic and make do with an inactive Head team. I'd love some answers from them about this or a discussion.

How about fuck you? If so, what's it like to live in Albania?

Took me a while, but I got it.

Yeah, this has been frustrating, at times the entire Creative server simply dies for a bit, and we have to wait/get a tech to get a tech to fix, which in my opinion shouldn't be happening at all. Just my two cents.

Do you slather exotic oils on your nipples after 7PM at night? If so, do you film it? If so, got a link?

Any football fans here? (UK football not hand egg)
EeHee2000 replied to SkrapssparkS's topic in General Discussion
Ye, the round ball one is soccer, the other one is football. It's already complicate to define the difference between US and UK/Straya footy, dammit. -

MCPublic General Meeting. Please read and share your ideas.
EeHee2000 replied to Mrloud15's topic in Minecraft General
Bumping, it's now been 5 weeks since the thread was started and over 3 weeks since the last post, I figure we may as well come to a set date with an agenda or perhaps not have a meeting at all, but I figure we need to decide what's going to actually happen. Admins, are you still looking into this or was it forgotten? -
This is actually quite a great idea, whilst I'm not a PvE player I really do like this idea and the possibility of it coming to Survival as well would be nice.

Issue with scrolling over users on forums
EeHee2000 replied to Diznatch52's topic in Problems & Issues
In my experience, this is caused by you using the wrong URL for the site. If it's nerd.nu/forum/ then yes, you will get this problem. You also will be unable to view your inbox and your notifications. The fix for this is to use "nerd.nu/forums", (note the 's') as this is the proper, primary URL. If you're lazy, just click on the big "reddit Public" logo that's always in the top left corner, that'll send you to the homepage and from there you should have no problems. -

Forum rule request: use of up/downvotes
EeHee2000 replied to barneygale's topic in Minecraft General
Uh, I see downvotes/upvotes being used as intended all the time. The only time I've seen them really abused was during the recent argument(s) we had across the forums - otherwise, they're well used and don't affect much unless people are actually assessing what reactions people are giving to different ideas. If anything, I'd like to see more people voting. Nearly all Server Discussion topics get over 100 views, and many go far higher than that - this one for example has nearly reached 750 views, yet the vast majority of the people reading the posts in it aren't voting and so the vote feedback isn't very accurate at all. Edit: Proven wrong by difficult1's downvote. -
I don't think it should be any set time, to be honest. It's usually quite obvious when a staff member is inactive, once we actually look at their last login dates and such. It varies from person to person in my opinion, for example Vortex_Oxide has gigantic breaks from nerd, but we don't often classify him as inactive. As far as becoming active again goes, I think as soon as a member of staff starts doing staff things, they're active again.

BillThePurpleGuy is inactive, go take a look at his forums account. Other than that, none I can see.

I think we should throw in a second, one-page book with the basic rules and gameplay mechanics for players that are entirely new here and still deciding whether they're going to stay at nerd.nu. Should they choose to stay at nerd, they'd be well off to read the original book, the one we're using now. That way people looking to jump straight into the action aren't going to instantly log off at the fear of having to read. Whilst BeastBruiser says that the book is a helpful resource, it's also a bit intimidating for new players that want to pick up the game and play straight away.

I really like the build moving policy, as for the ModMode change don't really feel it'd have much affect on non-staff, so that looks good to me. You've got my vote, amigo.
-
I think something simple, non-colored would be nice, for example: (1)[insertusername] would be a simple way of showing ranks in chat. Just a number before someone's name would mean that it doesn't block up chat, but if someone looks for it they can find it instantly. Another example: (420)[buzzinbee] would show that buzzinbee is in 420th place on the leaderboard.

I'm a little shifty about using the nerd.nu/survival page rankings to determine whether we can enter or not. There hasn't really been much PvP this rev, most of the kills shown on there are generally clan members killing their team-mates for shits and giggles. I mean, we have someone ranked 10th on the board at no more than 22 kills, whereas in past revisions the 10th player would probably need well over 200 kills. I think it'd be more fun to hold a tryouts tournament for us to decide which players can get into the event itself. I'm not sure exactly how it'd go down, perhaps we could just do a process-of-elimination style arena, pitting two random teams against each-other and the winner goes forward to fight the next team, and after time the 15 unbeaten teams would enter the UHC. Just a suggestion, let me know your thoughts.

If you were made Head Admin on nerd, right now, what would be your first action in regards to helping the servers?

Forum rule request: use of up/downvotes
EeHee2000 replied to barneygale's topic in Minecraft General
I actually like the upvote/downvote system on the forums, as someone said earlier it's a good way for users to show their opinion on things, but at the same time it can get out of hand and become very easily abuse-able. In light of the recent upvote/downvote war we've been having as of late, I'd say we wait until the storm settles and then come to a sensible decision, because right now people who're downvoted will dislike the feature, whilst those who're upvoted likely approve of it. -
What's the IP to the server you currently staff?
