  1. My move is finally over, I once again have a box of internets and will resume activity
  2. You can make use of modreq in-game for this kind of request. /modreq Please unmute me, thanks!
  3. A 'new survival' is on the backburner until 1.9. With all the changes to combat it would be unwise to rebuild it before that lands. I do think a 1.8 short-term server would be wise, perhaps even a hardcore mode? As nice as pve is toplay on and be a part of towns I do miss running around with a sword. Really depends on what our head admins have planned for this, with any luck we will get a response and some direction soon reguarding the long term plans.
  4. A mod who logs in and completes one modreq a month is still contributing, I see no reason to have requirements other than playing the game and completing some amount of requests. There is no repercussion of having "too many" mods, so long as they are all playing for a reasonable length of time, completing X modreqs isn't a great way to measure productivity. Most of my modreq numbers are for water flowing, while someone who handles a lot of protection requests may have lower numbers, they are providing the more valuable service A few hours a week for 2 weeks in a row would be sufficient to be "active", I know I tend to operate in little bursts of activity then lag for a while Keep in mind we are currently down a server, there will be staff who don't enjoy playing on P or C so they will be showing signs of inactivity. However on Survival server return I would hope a lot of them return as well, they will be needed
  5. I was using a we browser as an example, the type of request the client would make is the same as that of opening a website in a browser. The user experience is of course different, as resource packs are loaded by the client after a quick pop up I would have to review how minecraft handles them more than a couple of minutes on a phone to answer that. Once I have Internet again I can do so if it's still relevant
  6. My purely technical issues with this: I would be hesitant to use the plugin, even with moderator approval. Not all staff are particularly technically inclined, and it would be unfair to burden them with the security of our users in this way, if moderator approval is all that is needed the rules need to be stupidly restrictive and clear From me brief review of the plugin it allows http(s), ftp and local file system URLs to be given, it makes me nervous that it allows such a wide variety of protocols. The plugin effectively allows players to suggest our users open random tabs in their browsers, why that's an issue: I register puggleston to have a cool resource pack, hosted at http://c45y.com/texturepack.zip I then set up verbose logging of my logs, pulling geographical information out of every request to that url. This not only allows me to match up alt accounts easily but find out quite accurately where everybody lives, I can give a valid texture pack and nobody is the wiser, not even members of staff. I like the plugin, I think it's a cool idea. We just need a very clear set of rules as to where the packs are hosted. If we only allowed packs from dropbox.com for example that would prevent a great many issues from arising (Forgive spelling, typed on a phone at 11pm)
  7. It supports it and is a 2 second configuration change
  8. I would like to see the addition of enchantism, but don't believe an exp buff is needed in the traditional increase of X% on all exp drops. If I knew that the 30 levels it took me a bit of time to get would mean that exact enchant I wanted then I wouldn't mind grinding away to gain them. What I dislike is the randomness of enchanting ( and lapis requirement tbh ), it is easier to just burn through unenchanted tools for large projects/tunnels than to enchant a single pick the way I want it. The villager trading will be important, but I don't believe it should be the only method. With the boss mobs spawning a few of the harder ones can give 12 levels of exp now, so a buff to normal mob drops seems unnecessary. Additional harder mobs with increased exp only requires a few ideas to be thrown around and a weekend to code it.
  9. The script looks acceptable provided you include a sleep in there somewhere to slow it down a little. I'll direct PvE admins here to confirm. I would however change the name, while the action the script takes is in accordance with our rules the name itself may cause friction if accidentally pasted :) Edit: After conversation with the PvE admins and discussion about the intent of the rules it appears that an "AutoMine" would not be forbidden against our rules. My sincerest apologies for banning you for appearing to break a rule that isn't actually a rule. We are working to update the rules so both players and staff can better apply them.
  10. Deaygo (I think) has completed a render, just needs to upload it. I have pinged him in IRC as a reminder.
  11. Thanks for responding quickly. I hope to make this a quick process. My main issue with your macro, which you said is for punching mobs, is it is listed as an Automine script, which I think would be against our rules ( it is unclear ). I have reviewed your location and edits in the area and I believe you have not actually used the macro for its intended purpose, though technically it is allowed? Reading the line "using a script to punch and move forward would be allowed" from the PvE allowed mods page would seem to support using the script as a miner, rather than to grind mobs, so we're in a strange spot here The line marked with bold in particular may give the wrong idea to staff and players who are playing on the server with you: <F0rtynuggets> if(mining); log(&cAutoMine Stopped); unset(mining); stop(); keyup(forward);else; <F0rtynuggets> key(attack); loop; keydown(forward); wait(100ms); F0rtynuggets lost connection: You're not allowed to spam in chat! F0rtynuggets left the game. [NoCheatPlus] F0rtynuggets failed Text: acted like spamming [NoCheatPlus] (CONSOLE) Kicked F0rtynuggets : You're not allowed to spam in chat! <F0rtynuggets> if(!mining); log(&aStarting AutoMine); set(mining); do; do(15); <F0rtynuggets> keyup(forward); loop; endif;endif; F0rtynuggets lost connection: You're not allowed to spam in chat! F0rtynuggets left the game. [NoCheatPlus] F0rtynuggets failed Text: acted like spamming [NoCheatPlus] (CONSOLE) Kicked F0rtynuggets : You're not allowed to spam in chat! In future please be careful, don't paste automine macros into chat :) Sorry for the incorrect ban, I'll have to seek clarification on that rule from the padmins so we don't run into this issue again.
  12. Only interested if the eventual plan is to migrate from mumble. Having multiple options will only serve to fragment the already small percentage of the community that use the services outside the actual game sever
  13. Awesome, thanks for doing that. Your account has been unbanned.
  14. Bump for update. We're all staff here, it's not a big deal if I protect a region or someone else does, it's the same rules being enforced. If any form of staff cock it up that's when you can take them aside and discuss what went wrong, but blanket rules like this almost defeat the point of me personally being staff ( so I can get shit done when i'm the only one on ) I haven't been following it - until recently I wasn't even aware of this rule ( our other servers don't make up things like this ) I made a mistake protecting my own build due to not being a "mod" and using worldguard for years now and being super rusty, it was easily corrected and pointed out to me where I had gone wrong ( accidentally extended to bedrock ). There was nothing wrong with that process or how it was handled, I wish that all future interactions could be this relaxed and understanding. tl;dr Make moderq for thing Complete all prior requests as is reasonable Complete own request ??? Profit :3
  15. LETS ADD LOTS OF PRETTY COLORS AND SHIT TO CHAT AS WELL LIKE ALL THOSE OTHER SERVERS!!!!
  16. The current list is http://nerd.nu/staff/ which is built from the in game permissions, I had forgotten the wiki page existed, the page very clearly links to the new one now Junction wasn't combined with at the time because we weren't friends, simple as that. If we had been a little more accommodating and understanding to begin with junction wouldn't have needed to exist, but the past is just that, I hope we learn from it ( maybe this time we will? ) As for Zomise, I can only say that she shouldn't be an admin due to nerd.nu already having too many, not through any personal fault of hers. Lets not ponder why swag and t-shirts were never made while you were an admin either, I personally never enjoy looking at all the things I failed to do as an admin I actually agree with most of post #10 fwiw
  17. This is not a democracy. You don't have any rights, never have. I trust that our head admins will be discreet with whatever information they gather for whatever reasons they are doing so, all you can do is decide if you're willing to continue playing here for free while giving up any expectation that your super secret private messages won't be read. At the end of the day our governments ( mine and yours ) are violating our privacy more than this little game server, if you want to get on your high horse about privacy maybe do it somewhere that matters
  18. Work always goes a lot faster with a bit of ... industrial rock?
  19. Removed that one for you.
  20. Fair enough. 6 months is good length to wait, welcome back. Further rule breaking will result in a longer ban, so stick to the rules. ( you and your alts )
  21. Mass ban amnesty has happened, we removed 80k+ bans from the nerd.nu lists. If you were not a part of those ban removals then your ban was considered fairly recent. It has been suggested and warmly accepted that we need to review the new survival ban process, and be less stringent than the current process of instantly banning for most rule breaking. However this does not impact past bans, if you have been banned then simply appeal it like everyone else has to.
  22. It is not active at all. The current plan is to remove it and pursue a more community requested steam game server.
  23. The only option we have is to suggest people use <server resource pack> via the texture-pack global setting in our server config. As far as I am aware and after a quick google we cannot force your resource pack not to do stupid things. It could be wise that in future the color white is simply not used on signs. I think that is a reasonable outcome?
  24. Locked at request of author.
